Currumbin Waters, Gold Coast​

55m x DN355 PN16 HDPE Sewer Rising Main
Job Duration: 2 days

• Environmentally sensitive area that required OSDD to work closely with principal contractor to ensure environmental protection and WHS was adhered to
• Contending with tidal changes and ground water due to proximity to Currumbin Creek and difficulties associated with drilling in sand
• Were required to drill under a proposed DN1500 stormwater at depths of 4.2m 
• Crossed under a live, asbestos DN350 sewer rising main

Dagmar Street, Holland Park

Client required new water service installed to new home
Job Duration: 2 days

• Client had previously contacted 4 other directional drilling companies in South-East QLD who stated the job either could not be completed or quoted an exceptionally high price
• 110mm carrier pipe (sleeve) needed to be installed under 2 x roads and under a large median strip (all 3 of which were at differing height elevations)
• Very limited access for plant / equipment

Wacol - Brisbane

BORE 1: 3 x 140mm electrical conduits, (26m in rock, 22m other than rock)

BORE 2: 4 x 110mm communications conduits (26m in rock, 22m other than rock)
BORE 3: 6 x 110mm electrical conduits (70m)

• Multiple conduit type installation bores 
• 7m height elevation encountered between the entry and exit pits
• Strict safety protocols needed to be adhered to outside this facility
• Vehicle traffic (prison vehicles) and delivery trucks were constant throughout day
• Pedestrian traffic (visitors to prison) needed to be catered for
  
• Job needed to be completed in specific time frames – together with fixed daily start and finishing times

Eagle Farm - Brisbane

• 330m x electrical upgrades under thick industrial concrete for new extrusion machine
• 4 - 6 x 140mm electrical conduit installations
• Required expert tracking to accurately maintain desired bore alignment due to very thick concrete and outside interference with the F5 Falcon Locator
• Bore alignments were underneath industrial buildings / sheds / large traffic terminals

52m x 110mm carrier pipe (sleeve) – new water service

• Drilling in very dense rock underneath a TMR road
• Principal contractor doubted HDD would be able to penetrate through the rocky ground and were preparing to open-cut the road
• Principal contractor extremely happy with outcome achieved via HDD
